Dear All ACN doctors,
As we close out another productive month, we are proud to share a summary of the Florida ACN Medical Association's accomplishments and ongoing efforts. October has been a month of strategic progress, collaboration, and advocacy; all aimed at strengthening the role and recognition of ACN physicians across Florida.
I. Meetings with the Florida Department of Health (DOH)
Our Board of Directors held multiple meetings with the Department of Health to discuss key issues affecting ACN doctors, including the importance of accurate data submission for HRSA score updates.
We extend our appreciation to the following DOH officials for their valuable collaboration:
Dr. Kenneth Sheppke, Deputy Secretary for Health
Jennifer Wenhold, Director, Division of Medical Quality
Melissa Jordan, Director, Division of Community Health Promotion
Emma C. Spencer, Division Director, Public Health Statistics and Performance Management
Nathan Dunn, Strategic Project Manager
Keri Anderson Taggert, Department of Health, Primary Care Division
Lauren Cassedy, Chief of Staff
JP Bell, Director of Legislative Affairs
Gabby William, Administrative Assistant, Office of the State Surgeon General
Amelia Milligan, Senior Executive Assistant, State of Florida Department of Health
These meetings reinforce FAMA's active role in ensuring that ACN physicians' voices are heard and respected at the state level.
II. Lobbying Efforts
Our legislative partner, Sunrise Consulting Group, continues to advocate on behalf of our association in Tallahassee. Work is actively underway on a bill designed to address the unique challenges faced by ACN physicians in Florida. We remain fully engaged in every step of this process to ensure that your professional interests are effectively represented. We are one step closer to our permanent license.
III. CME Event Announcement
We are thrilled to announce FAMA's first Continuing Medical Education (CME) event,
"Holiday Dinner with a Dose of Learning"
A milestone that blends professional growth with community spirit. This event marks another step forward in expanding educational opportunities for our members. This time, we started in Marion County, Florida.
There are more CME events coming to other Counties in Florida!
IV. Communication and Collaboration with FMA, and other Medical Societies and Associations Statewide.
Our leadership continues to maintain regular communication with members of the Florida Medical Association (FMA) Board, ensuring that our priorities remain visible and supported. We are encouraged by the ongoing expressions of support from the FMA toward our advocacy efforts and have initiated dialogue with other FMA-affiliated Societies and Associations to strengthen collaboration across the state.
V. Independent Actions by ACN Doctors
We are aware of independent actions taken by non-physician individuals and ACN doctors. While we respect everyone's enthusiasm, we kindly remind all members to avoid sharing unverified information to prevent confusion or misinformation. Our success depends on unity, coordination, and collective advocacy, not fragmented efforts.
The Florida ACN Medical Association (FAMA) remains the only registered organization officially representing ACN physicians in the State of Florida.
FAMA is not affiliated with any physician recruitment companies and does not sponsor or endorse any individuals who claim to represent ACN doctors outside our official channels. All communications, initiatives, and events must come directly from FAMA to ensure accuracy and transparency. Sign up today to receive direct communication from FAMA.
VI. Conclusion
October has been a month of progress, partnership, and dedication. These accomplishments reflect the hard work of our members, leadership, and partners who believe in our mission to elevate ACN physicians and improve healthcare access for Florida communities.
We thank every member who continues to stand with us, share our vision, and contribute to the growth of this association. Together, we will continue to make a lasting impact.
